Dr. Lockhart's clinical interests are in the areas of early-phase oncology drug development and cancers of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. He is a member of the Developmental Therapeutics Program for the Siteman Cancer Center where he aims to assist in the development of novel anticancer therapies by conducting Phase I clinical trials. Dr. Lockhart has an interest in incorporating genomics into these studies to eventually personalize cancer treatment. As a member of the GI oncology clinical team, he has a particular interest in cancers of the upper GI tract. In this regard, Dr. Lockhart designs and conducts clinical trials for patients with esophageal, gastroesophageal junction and gastric cancers. With an aim towards personalized cancer care, he tries to incorporate genomics or other correlative studies into these clinical trials.
